At Verus Metrology Partners, we’re proud to invest in the next generation of engineering talent. Our apprenticeship program, exemplifies our commitment to nurturing skills, innovation, and expertise in the engineering industry. Our apprentices learn key skills in Manufacturing, Design, and Metrology through their 3 year course, complete work academic time, projects, assignments, and mentoring.
We are long standing supporters of the apprenticeship program and work in collaboration with IBEC, MSLETB, SOLAS, and the ATU.
Our apprentices bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to every project, supported by expert mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities. This collaborative environment ensures they grow into skilled professionals, ready to contribute to the success of our clients and the broader engineering community.
We’re delighted to introduce our current group of apprentices and celebrate those who have recently completed their programs. Below, you’ll find a team picture of all our apprentices and individual photos, along with a little about their journey:
Clive Brennan
Currently specializing in manufacturing, Clive is excelling in his hands-on training.
“I joined the apprenticeship program to gain hands-on experience and learn from skilled professionals, knowing it would be the best path to grow in my career. Since starting, I’ve gained invaluable knowledge, built confidence, and developed a deep appreciation for the opportunities this program has given me, reinforcing my goal of becoming an engineer for Verus.” – Clive Brennan
Richard Harkin
In his second year, Richard is currently advancing his expertise in Design supported by guidance from our senior engineers.
Cathal Fitzpatrick
Cathal, enjoying his technical training, has also taken on a role in our Social Committee, and as all of our apprentices, has become an integral part of the team.
Andrew Mc Goldrick
Newly graduated, Andrew is now a qualified toolmaker, and is currently applying his apprenticeship experience to exciting global projects. When we asked Andrew what advice he’d give to new apprentices starting out he said, “when you enjoy and take pride in your work it comes easier to you. Don’t be afraid to try new ways of doing tasks.”
Farrah Mc Donagh
Farrah, in her final year has excelled in Design engineering and has worked on many projects since joining us three years ago. Farrah is pictured above on the right with ATU Galway lecturer, David Sheil, discussing one of her projects on-site.
“I’ve really enjoyed seeing my progress in real time upon returning to work with the knowledge I’ve gained from the academic portions of the course. Progressing through each of the different departments in the company allowed me to gain a better understanding of how important contribution of experience from the varied skills required allows us to create such an effective finished product. I’ve also enjoyed working with people of different skill sets and learning from them first hand.” – Farrah Mc Donagh
Gary Casey
In his first year, Gary is currently growing his skills in manufacturing, supporting his team mates on multiple high-scale projects. When asked on what the most surprising thing he has learned, Gary said;
“The most surprising thing I have learned since joining Verus is the time, attention to detail, and shared expertise that goes into each and every project from the very first step, right through to the last… Constantly learning throughout….it’s great.”
Nathan Durcan
Also in his first year, Nathan works alongside the manufacturing team on his placement, and will return to college in the Spring with his apprentice colleagues.
“I was drawn to the apprenticeship program to gain practical skills directly related to the engineering sector. My perspective has changed as I’ve learned the responsibilities and duties of a manufacturing engineer.” – Nathan Durcan
Ronan Keenan
Our first Business Development apprentice, Ronan comes to us with experience in client relationships and is excited to expand his expertise while also growing in his technical knowledge to further support Verus partnerships.
“The apprenticeship program at Verus has significantly enhanced my technical proficiency and problem-solving abilities. The culture of cooperation and the trust placed in apprentices have been empowering, allowing me to take on significant responsibilities early on. These are experiences that have prepared me well for challenges in the future and professional growth.” – Ronan Keenan
William Hodson
William is currently in his first year of his apprenticeship and has started with a skills focus in manufacturing, he will also grow his skills in design and metrology as his course progresses. We look forward to seeing him develop in all of these areas.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the MSLETB, IBEC, SOLAS and the ATU for their partnership and support throughout this program. Their collaboration has been instrumental in ensuring our apprentices receive the best education and training, bridging academic learning with industry experience.
